What do you think? Do you believe if you have a camera that you are a photographer? The assumption is that if you have a camera, and you love to take pictures, and can photograph anything anytime, you believe you are a professional photographer.
Do you think that makes you a photographer? Isn't that like saying if you have a plunger you are a plumber, or if you have a toothbrush you can be a dentist? Having a love of photography is your starting point, then you have to grow from there. You have to know your camera inside and out, be able to shoot under any conditions without thinking about it. You have to have the best equipment possible for your circumstances, you have to be good at everything including photography, production (pre and post), sales and marketing, and planning. You have to know the business side of photography. It can make you a better photographer. And you present yourself that way to your potential clients. And you have to keep willing to learn along the way. Things change and you have to change with it. Thats just the way it is.
They say that it take 10,000 hour to master anything.
